An Explanation and a New Horizon

Hi! It’s been quite a long time since last I’ve used this blog. As a matter of fact, for a long time, I haven’t even been writing. I took a rather long break from putting my thoughts and ideas onto the page, and in that break, got married and became a teacher at a private Christian school. My life now is incredibly different from what it was on my last post (ignoring the last couple Marvel: Contest of Champions articles I shared), and this blog has now become almost an archive of the stepping stones I traveled to reach to this point. Last year, around Christmas time, I came down with COVID, and was unable to participate in our annual Christmas traditions, a time full of bustling from place to place and spending time with family. But instead of let myself be bogged down by my mostly minor inconvenience relative to the struggles COVID has wreaked on families across the world, I sat down, picked up the novel I have been writing for years, and put my fingers on the keyboard to finish it.

Within the week, my first draft was finally complete. Within months, I had gone back and rewritten the entire thing from scratch, bringing it from an adolescent manuscript to something I could be proud of as an adult. Now, I am diving into the next rewrite/revision, with ideas for other novels ready to write once this one is prepared for the numerous rejections I am supposed to receive before getting published.

On the side, I have started doing some freelance writing. I might still post from time to time on this blog myself, but I will also be using it to share links to articles I have written on other sites. I worked for a company called Gamers Decide, which is where those Marvel: Contest of Champions articles came from, and that gig was a one-time deal for me – I hope to make most of the work that I produce more meaningful than what I wrote in those five articles, specifically because I generally like to write so that those who do not have content knowledge of the subject can still enjoy the piece.

With that, I have started a partnership with a group called Playsum, who will be releasing an app focused on creating a gaming community where people who play games can connect with one another. I will be writing some articles for the Playsum Blog, and will be linking to them here!

For now, I wish you all well, and look forward to reopening this part of my life and using this avenue as a means to share some of what I care about with those who are interested!
